PAYMENT

Many health insurance plans provide benefits for Nutrition Counseling and/or Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) with a Registered Dietitian or Certified Dietician-Nutritionist. If your health insurance plan does not cover my nutrition services, I will be happy to discuss the fee schedule with you, prior to our initial visit.

All payments and copays are due at the time of your visit, payable by cash or check.

If your medical insurance coverage plan requires a referral, please make sure we have your referral on file before your first visit.

INSURANCE COVERAGE

Insurance coverage for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) varies, depending on the specific benefits of your policy. Most health insurance plans now provide coverage for Nutrition Counseling under your preventive health benefits, as part of the Health Care Reform Act.

Coverage for Nutrition Counseling and/or Medical Nutrition Therapy is also available for chronic diseases and for diagnoses in which dietary intervention is a medically necessity and has a therapeutic role. Physician referrals may be required by some insurance companies.
